REGIONAL DIRECTOR:

Hello, and welcome to the 2007-2008 Destination Imagination competitive season for Michigan Region 1. 

My name is Robin McGregor and I am your Region 1 Director.  I will be assisted by Chris Morrow as our Vice Region 1 Director.  We will be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns as we navigate this competitive season.  I can be contacted via email at rlm2629@comcast.net  and Chris at morrowchris@ameritech.net.   

We are looking forward to another year of Creativity and Fun in our Region.  Our Regional tournament is scheduled for March 8, 2008 at Waterford Mott High School.  The fees will remain $50 per competitive team and $25 per primary team.  These fees are used to cover the site costs and appraiser food the day of the tournament.  We are also scheduling a number of trainings to assist the team members and their managers.  These dates will be posted on the Michigan Website on the Calendar link.  You can access the site at www.micreativity.org. 

We are requesting one appraiser per competitive team and a half day volunteer per Rising Star  team.  Please note the appraisers must be willing to attend a full day training session and be available the entire day of the tournament.

 We will have online registration, again this year, for the regional and state tournament.  You will need to register on the Region 1 webpage beginning December 1, 2007 through January 11, 2008.  We will be using this registration to create the Tournament schedule.  Please be sure to complete as much information as possible.

We are going to have a DI DAY EVENT filled with training from art to building, voice and movement.  This went over so good last year we are bringing this back.
