The Destination ImagiNation program allows students to work as a team to present unique solutions to complex challenges. These solutions often take the form of a skit or presentation that will meet guidelines released by the Destination ImagiNation program. The challenges that teams can self-select from focus on a variety of interesting and curriculum-related topics:

-Technical

-Scientific

-Fine Arts

-Improvisational

-Structural

-Service Learning

Each of these challenges will be released in full detail to your team upon registration, however these previews can be found at IdoDI.org

For the 2012-13 Competition Season, the MICA Board of Directors is excited to announce that we will be offering FREE Regional Tournament Registration to all teams from schools / districts that are new to the Destination ImagiNation program. This savings of $50 per team is to show our excitement to you and your teams for choosing to participate in this life-changing program!

We want to assure you that we will be here through every step of the process for you and your new teams this year. We can assist you with training, recruitment, and help you learn everything you need to know about this program.

Registration Information

All registration forms and the online registration link for MICA’s Affiliate Tournament can be found on the MICA website: www.micreativity.org - all Regional registration will open on December 1, 2012, so be sure to look for the link at that time.

All teams will need to register with Destination ImagiNation, Inc. prior to registering with MICA. To register your team(s), you can do one of the following:

· Fill out the START A TEAM 2012-13 form, and mail or fax to the contact info listed on the form

· Call toll-free and register with a DI representative at 1-888-321-1503

· Register on-line at www.ShopDI.org - just click on the TEAM PAKS link on the left side of the page, and select what type of team pak you would like to purchase (1-team, 5-team, 30-team)

When you register, you will need the following information:

· Your Affiliate: MICHIGAN

· Your Organization Name (typically the name of the school or district)

· Billing Information of the Purchaser

· Shipping Address for all Program Materials

· Payment Method (can be check, credit card, money order, or a purchase order)

Registration dates and deadlines are as follows:

Team Registration through Destination ImagiNation headquarters begins September 1, 2012. All teams must be registered with DI Headquarters before they can register through the Michigan Creativity Association for a Regional Tournament.
